The Society of Family Planning is relieved by the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decision in United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) v Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. This decision by SCOTUS reflects decades of strong science demonstrating the safety and efficacy of mifepristone.

As a Society made up of nearly 1,700 clinicians, scholars, and partners, we know that science matters. We are proud to have contributed to the evidence base and legal arguments that resulted in a just decision. Please review our landing page reviewing key mifepristone science and Society resources.

We recognize this is one win in a relentless onslaught of unscientific and unjust attacks on critical health care. We renew our effort to ensure that every person is able to access abortion when they need one. We are committed to continue to fight together for our collective vision of just and equitable abortion and contraception informed by science.
