The Society of Family Planning proudly joins a broad coalition of obstetrics and gynecology professional organizations in a joint statement supporting public health measures to combat COVID-19. This joint statement endorses existing public health measures, including social distancing, masking, hand hygiene, and appropriate PPE. Additionally, after careful review of the situation, these collective organizations believe that the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination outweigh the risks. The statement recommends that pregnant patients consult with a clinician when considering vaccination, but also that this conversation should not be required before pregnant patients receive the vaccine.
