Varying delivery models for abortion care is a promising way to increase access to abortion, which Gynuity is currently demonstrating through their TelAbortion project, which includes mailing mifepristone and misoprostol directly to the patient after a screening process and videoconference counseling session. The objectives of this study are to 1) understand what circumstances and barriers to in-person medical abortion led to individuals having a TelAbortion, 2) discuss their experience with TelAbortion and how it could be improved, and 3) describe what options individuals would have pursued had they not had a TelAbortion. Through a qualitative design, we aim to gain both breadth and depth of experiences of women using TelAboriton from around the country and shed light on the importance of this service.
