Dr. Luna is an Associate Professor of Sociology (and Feminist Studies by courtesy) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her contributions to the field of family planning include writing key pieces in the burgeoning area of reproductive justice, which draws attention to rights to not have children (e.g., access to contraception, voluntary childlessness), rights to have children (e.g. for low-income people, for queer people) and rights to parent (e.g. for incarcerated people). Her career goals include developing rigorous models for integrating reproductive justice ethics into family planning research, and increasing the pipeline of undergraduate students interested in family planning research.
