I completed my medical education at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where I was inducted into the Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. After graduating, I completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. I am currently a Complex Family Planning Fellow at the University of California, Davis. In addition to my medical training, my professional background includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology from UCLA and working as a Middle School Sexual Education Teacher in Los Angeles before entering medical school. My research interests focus on how clinicians and health systems filter and share information with patients. My previous work has explored how perinatal genetic counselors discuss pregnancy termination in the second trimester, revealing that clinicians and health systems often rely on various review mechanisms (such as approval panels and two-physician sign-offs) to regulate access to abortion care. I am seeking support from the Uta Landy Grant to fund my fellowship research project, which aims to understand contemporary policies and review mechanisms for requests for inpatient induced abortion in US hospitals.
