Frequently asked questions

How can I ask a question about Continuing Education credit(s)?

  • For assistance or questions about Continuing Education credit, including claiming credit for the Annual Meeting, please contact CME@SocietyFP.org.

When is the 2025 Society of Family Planning Annual Meeting?

  • Save the date! #SFP2025 will be held on October 25-27 in Pittsburgh, PA preceded by two days of business meetings, pre-conference workshops, and a welcome reception.

When will session and abstract submissions open for #SFP2025?

  • Submissions for the 2025 meeting will open in the spring of 2025. Check the submissions page for the most up to date information.

How are sessions and abstracts chosen for the Annual Meeting?

  • All sessions and abstracts are reviewed and selected through a rigorous process conducted by peer reviewers, the Annual Meeting Committee, and the Board of Directors. The peer reviewers and the Annual Meeting Committee are selected through an open call recruitment period once a year. More information can be found here.

Will there be a virtual component to the Annual Meeting?

  • No. We will be focusing our attention on an in-person convening. For on-demand virtual content, visit Society Education (Login required) where we offer low or no-cost access to accredited continuing education programming.

What security measures do you have in place for attendees?

  • The safety of meeting participants is of the utmost importance to us. To help ensure your safety all conference attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers will receive a thorough security vetting check and security procedures will be in place on-site.
  • Security at the Annual Meeting may feel a little different than other conferences. All attendees are asked to keep the meeting location confidential, wear their badge throughout the meeting spaces and remove it as they exit, and follow session-specific social media guidelines.

What is the conference hotel?

  • For security reasons, hotel information is not public. This information will be released to registered attendees cleared by our security vetting procedures. It may take approximately ten business days after registering to receive confirmation. We encourage you to register early to ensure you have this information to book.

What are the room rates?

  • The Society has a discounted room block that contains a variety of rooms ranging in price from $229 to $269. When registration opens in late June, we strongly encourage you to register as soon as possible to clear security vetting in time to book your room before they sell out. As a reminder, existing Society members are vetted and always have access to the venue and accommodations page.

What is the dress code?

  • We recommend business casual or whatever you will be comfortable networking with friends and colleagues or meeting new ones.

If I am not a member, should I apply to be a member before I register for the meeting to get the discount?

  • You can apply for membership right in the registration form! When registration opens in late June 2025, you can submit your membership application, and then be taken directly to the Annual Meeting registration form to automatically receive the member discount.

What is your refund policy?

  • Refunds, less a $50 processing fee, will be given to those who submit a written request to Info@SocietyFP.org no later than October 10, 2025. Refunds may take as many as ten days to process. Refunds will not be given after that date for no-shows. Registration to the Annual Meeting is non-transferable.
