The Society of Family Planning (SFP) advances science in family planning, including contraception and abortion, by funding research and promoting the expansion and dissemination of family planning knowledge. SFP also seeks to cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment to foster scholarly activity and leadership in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.

The 2015 SFP Research Fund grant cycle will begin shortly. We have posted preliminary details in a recent newsletter. Watch this space for updates.

Identifying research priorities for the field of family planning. The SFP Research Fund completed a priority setting process over June-September, 2014, and the final report is now available. It includes an extensive list of top and secondary priorities for research on family planning, and represents the work of a number of our fellows and colleagues as well as other allied experts and advocates. We welcome your feedback.

Mark your calendars: The 2015 North American Forum on Family Planning will be held November 14-16 in Chicago, Illinois, preceded by two days of pre-conference sessions. Online abstract submissions and online submission of conference session proposals are both now open and will continue through March 18, 2015. Those accepted for oral and poster presentations will be published in the October 2015 edition of Contraception: An International Reproductive Health Journal. Learn more...
