April J. Bell has designed and implemented data collection and evaluation systems in domestic and international settings. She received her BA in Human Biology from Stanford University, her MPH with a dual concentration in Epidemiology and Social and Behavioral Sciences from the School of Medicine at Indiana University (IU) and is a PhD candidate in Epidemiology at the IU School of Public Health. Prior to joining her doctoral program, she worked for 10 years in various capacities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and for 5 years as the Research Program Manager for the IU-Moi University (Eldoret, Kenya) lead AMPATH program. Additionally, Ms. Bell is a digital storytelling facilitator at the Berkeley, CA based StoryCenter, where she leads workshops that teach individuals to share their stories by creating short films that combine a narrated piece of personal writing, photographic and other images, and a musical soundtrack.
