Our most recent strategic plan required us to look back at where we came from in order to define the path we wanted to follow moving forward. This timeline aims to tell that story — our origins, our past priorities, our responses to real-world realities, our stagnation, and our growth.

The timeline is “alive” in more than one way. To begin with, the Society is not an inanimate object, but the people who created it and sustain it today — staff, leadership, and members. The timeline is about the work they did — and continue to do. Secondly, just as time continues to march forward, the Society does as well. The timeline should do the same.

We will continue to add new entries to the timeline as time passes, but we ask those of you who have been a part of the Society to alert us to entries you would like to see included as well, regardless of when it happened.
