Assistant Professor of Sociology
Danielle Bessett is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies affiliate at the University of Cincinnati. Her research and teaching interests center on medicine, gender, and reproduction. She co-leads OPEN, the Ohio Policy Evaluation Network, which promotes rigorous, interdisciplinary research to assess Ohioans' reproductive health and well-being. Her monograph on women's pregnancy experiences, Pregnant with Possibilities: Constructing Normality in Stratified Reproduction, is forthcoming with New York University Press. Bessett is a former SFP board member and an officer of the American Sociological Association's Medical Sociology section.
