Senior Project Director for the Alternative Provision of Medication Abortion Program
Rana Barar is the person in the room who immediately starts thinking about how to implement an exciting idea. She is a senior project director with deep experience implementing sexual and reproductive health programs and research, including the landmark Turnaway Study at UCSF, for which she oversaw everything from switching to electronic data collection to communications and dissemination strategy. Rana is currently implementing two research projects, funded by the Society of Family Planning, aimed at expanding access to medication abortion through alternative provision models. She is also a proud abortion story-teller. Her writing has appeared in Rewire and KQED's Perspectives.
