The Society of Family Planning (SFP) advances science in family planning, including contraception and abortion, by funding research and promoting the expansion and dissemination of family planning knowledge. SFP also seeks to cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment to foster scholarly activity and leadership in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.

The tenth competitive SFP Research Fund grant cycle has now begun. Concept papers for a multisite grant can be submitted online and are due on June 1, 2015. Application submissions for two new types of grants—community-based participatory research grants and interdisciplinary innovation grants—will close on June 15. Learn more...

Identifying research priorities for the field of family planning. The SFP Research Fund completed a priority setting process over June-September, 2014, and the final report is now available. It includes an extensive list of top and secondary priorities for research on family planning, and represents the work of a number of our fellows and colleagues as well as other allied experts and advocates. We welcome your feedback.

Mark your calendars: The 2015 North American Forum on Family Planning will be held November 14-16 in Chicago, Illinois, preceded by two days of pre-conference sessions. And note in particular these SFP events: the SFP Career Development Seminar and annual business meeting, both scheduled for November 13, and the awards luncheon on November 15, which this year will honor Stanley Henshaw, Ward Cates and Mark Nichols.
