Audience Menu


The Society of Family Planning (SFP) advances science in family planning, including contraception and abortion, by funding research and promoting the expansion and dissemination of family planning knowledge. SFP also seeks to cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment to foster scholarly activity and leadership in the areas of reproductive health and family planning.


The 2016 SFP Research Fund grant cycle is underway. Applications for small research grants, career development grants, community-based participatory research grants, and interdisclipinary innovation planning grants are now being accepted, and are all due on April 6. See the "Applying for grants" page for RFPs, budget and signature forms, and links to online application submissions. Meanwhile, the submission paper for concept papers for large research grants ended February 3. Concept papers that were submitted will be reviewed over the next few weeks, and those invited to submit full proposals will be able to do so beginning March 28. Watch this space for details.

logo for new North American Forum on Family PlanningNorth American Forum on Family Planning. It’s not too soon to begin planning for the next Forum! Mark your calendars: The 2016 North American Forum on Family Planning will be held November 5-7 in Denver, Colorado, preceded by two days of pre-conference sessions. We will begin accepting submissions for conference session proposals on January 15 and for scientific abstracts on March 16. Please check back for updates. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Forum Scientific Committee, and those accepted for oral and poster presentations will be published in the October 2016 issue of Contraception: An International Reproductive Health Journal.
